At Prambanan, a yoga programme meets a living heritage setting

An operator-listed session invites a closer look at the responsibilities that come with practising at historic sites.

InJourney Destination listed a yoga session at Prambanan’s Shiva Square for 24 October, from 07:00 to 09:00 local time, as part of the road to the Jogja Cultural Wellness Festival. The listing establishes the planned programme, not independent confirmation of attendance or how the session unfolded.

A setting with responsibilities

The Prambanan Temple Compounds are recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage property. A wellness programme in such a setting sits within a larger responsibility to the place. The operator’s guidance asks visitors to remain in designated areas, keep the site clean and follow the rules. For organisers and participants, the surrounding heritage deserves attention alongside the practice itself. The accompanying photograph predates this programme.
