A teaching life that keeps making room for study

Jeri Hudak’s continuing study offers a useful perspective on the long life of an independent yoga teacher.

In Moscow, Idaho, Jeri Hudak’s teaching story stretches back decades. Her biography at Moscow Yoga Center says she has taught in the area since 1988, while a new local profile draws attention to the community around the studio.

Experience is still a practice

The center describes Hudak as a certified Iyengar instructor who continues to study with senior teachers. Her work includes private lessons, workshops and advanced study. Continuing education is presented as part of the job, rather than a chapter completed before teaching begins.

For independent teachers, that is a useful distinction. A long career needs more than a timetable: it needs opportunities to reconsider familiar instructions, learn from colleagues and notice what students need now. Hudak’s published biography offers a concrete example of an experienced teacher maintaining that relationship with learning.

For students, a teacher’s account of their ongoing study can be a starting point for conversation. Years of experience and the willingness to keep learning belong in the same picture.
