A recent Bali report places local students at the centre of the island’s yoga teaching economy.

Bali Tribune reports that Ashram Gandhi Puri Sevagram in Klungkung hosted a 100-hour residential yoga teacher training from October 8 to 18. The October 21 article describes a cohort of 16, mostly students of the health yoga programme at UHN I Gusti Bagus Sugriwa.

Looking at the people who will teach

The report names Indian instructor Praveen Kumar Verma and describes cooperation with Vivekananda Yoga Sanstha Institute. The organisers connect the training with developing local teaching capacity for Bali’s wellness tourism. That is their stated ambition; the article does not establish graduates’ employment outcomes or the recognition of the course. It offers a local perspective on a destination more often discussed through the experience of visiting students.
