Turning a teacher’s sequencing choices into an app

A Hampshire partnership puts time, mobility and focus at the centre of selecting a home practice.

A Hampshire Chronicle report dated 28 October describes how yoga teacher Jyoti Harvey and her partner Alan Spong developed Jyoti Yoga & Wellness. Spong built the app around Harvey’s teaching experience, with a session builder that selects short teaching videos according to a user’s available time, mobility and chosen focus.

Personalisation still begins with teaching choices

The current official site describes chair, standing and mat-based options, with sessions from five to 50 minutes. It also allows users to save a session and return to it. The reporting explains that rules developed with Harvey guide how the videos are sequenced.

For teachers considering digital practice, the interesting question is which decisions can be represented in a set of options, and which still need a conversation. A configurable sequence can provide choice without establishing that it responds like a teacher observing a student. Neither the report nor the product description demonstrates clinical benefit or makes this an endorsement of the app.
