Professional recognition returns to the seminar agenda

A Navi Mumbai gathering puts registration and accreditation into discussion without settling their future form.

A framework still taking shape through discussion.

A two-day yoga and naturopathy seminar in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, on 24 and 25 October included discussion of professional registration, accreditation and regulation. In a report dated 28 October, Bharat Express says Ayush minister Prataprao Jadhav expressed willingness to consider demands concerning yoga and naturopathy under the NCISM Act and registration for naturopathy practitioners.

Discussion leaves details to be decided

The seminar was organised with the National Institute of Naturopathy, INO Surya Foundation and Dr GD Pol Foundation. The organisers’ public announcement confirms the event and its dates. The report records a willingness to consider demands; it does not announce a completed registration system.

For teachers, the useful questions concern the responsibilities attached to any future recognition and the distinctions between teaching and clinical practice. A seminar account cannot supply those details. Its health-related theme also provides no clinical evidence that yoga or naturopathy treats addiction. Professional discussion and evidence of treatment outcomes require separate scrutiny.
