India’s Union Health Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava called for regular yoga and wellness sessions on a fixed day each week during a November 5 review of three Delhi primary-care facilities, according to PTI’s report in ETHealthworld.

From a direction to a dependable session

The report, published November 6 and attributed to a health ministry statement, places the direction alongside screening, diagnostics and follow-up care. The official Ayushman Arogya Mandir portal separately identifies yoga and preventive wellness as part of the program’s community-health focus.

A weekly place on a calendar could help residents know when to attend. The reporting does not establish which sessions are already running, who will teach them or how participation will be measured. Those details remain important when an announcement becomes a local service.

For teachers and communities, continuity is the practical question: a known time, a suitable space and clear information about the session. The direction describes an intention to support wellbeing; it is not evidence of measured health benefits or a substitute for individual medical care.
