A new studio name with the same teachers

A Providence studio’s announced change to Sthira Studios pairs a new identity with an explicit promise of teaching continuity.

Iyengar Yoga Source in Providence says it will become Sthira Studios on November 14. Its official open-house notice emphasises the same teachers, studio and approach to Iyengar yoga, while introducing personal training and massage in a private studio.

Explaining what carries forward

The announced open house runs from one to four in the afternoon, local time. Its programme includes introductory standing poses, a rope-wall sampler, tours and opportunities to talk with teachers. The notice says entry is free, with limited class spaces and advance reservations encouraged.

A change of name can make an existing student wonder which parts of a familiar place will change. The studio’s own explanation puts continuity beside the additions. That is an announced intention, not independent reporting on how students will experience the transition.

For readers following the life of a local studio, the useful information is concrete: who will teach, where practice continues and how newcomers can ask questions. The event is still ahead. A new identity becomes meaningful through those everyday details, rather than the name alone.
